Norway’s population hasn’t always been so high, several events throughout the history have led to serious downfall in the numbers. But immigration to Norway from specific countries reversed the fact in the 20th century.

However, the immigrants made 17% of the total Norway’s population of 5.368 million while the Muslims contribute with 3.15% of Norway’s population. there are a total of 166,861 Muslims mostly having an immigrant background with Pakistani, Iranian descent being the most visible.

Big cities like Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim make up a large bulk of Norway’s population.
Oslo
55% of the total Muslim population resides in Oslo, contributing 8% to Oslo’s population of 1,041,377 with 63% being immigrants from church of Norway and 30% goes to Catholics. The western part of Oslo is mostly ethnic Norwegian with fewer than 5% immigrants.
Bergen
The city has a total population of 280,216 with majority of it being born in Norway. The city accepted people from, Iraq, Somalia, Vietnam and Germany with total 180 countries making up 96% of the population residing in urban areas of Bergen. Muslims make up 2.5%of the total while 80% are from church of Norway.
Trondheim
With a population of 199,039, it has the highest student population over 30,000 being the third most populous municipality in Norway. Most people conserve a Jewish identity due to the history with 93% being from southern Norway rural areas and 1.3% Muslim population.
